An estimated population of 39650 inhabitants have found in this territory the best residential land with the whispers of the rural "world" and the comfort of modern society. Named after the biggest portion of land in the Mississippi River, this community founded in the early 1850s shares frontiers with Moline, East Moline, and the Iowa cities. One of the architectural and historical treasures of this land is the Government Bridge built back in the 1890s, which along with the other three bridges in Rock Island served its former residents as connecting structures that allowed commerce and socialization.
