ABOUT THE AREA
The spirit of cooperation and hard work have taken this community to new horizons in the latest decades, placing this territory on the tourism map of North Carolina State. Established back in the 1760s, this territory of 1050 square miles of extension is the son of Bladen and New Hanover Counties with an estimated population of 73150 residents. Member of the regional Cape Fear Council of Governments, this community is divided into six townships sharing frontiers with Pender, Horry, New Hanover, and Columbus Counties.
