Want to experience the National Hollerin' Contest? Sampson County has been celebrating this cultural event for more than 35 years at the Spivey's Corner. Clinton, Garland, Orange, Roseboro, Salemburg, and Newton Grove are some of the settlements in Sampson County founded back in the 1780s and former territory of Duplin County. The Sampson Community College, Clinton City Schools, and Sampson County Schools are responsible for the formation and preparation of the future professionals within the land of the Sampson Independent newspaper.
