ABOUT THE AREA
This land is full of culture, natural beauty, art, diversity, and plenty of history all over its extension. This son of North Carolina State named after John Haywood, was formed from territories of Macon County and gifted with a great location right in between Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains, and the elegant Pisgah National Forest. The Pigeon River is born in this land protected by the Plott Balsams and Great Balsam Mountains, which is divided into fifteen townships and six cities including Clyde, West Canton, Canton, Ivy Hill, and East Fork. Cocke County and Sevier County in Tennesee is one of the neighbors of this community, along with Transylvania, Madison, Buncombe, Jackson, and Swain Counties.
