ABOUT THE AREA
Strong and vigorous rises proudly Yancey County in North Carolina State as member of the regional High Country Council of Governments, with great and functional highways that will lead you to multiple notable locations all over this "dry" territory named for Bartlett Yancey, congressman. Some of the settlements in this land founded in the 1830s with 315 square miles of extension are Bent Creek, Busick, Cello, and Mount Mitchell; along with eleven townships which are served by Yancey County Schools. This land shares frontiers with Mitchell, Madison, McDowell, Buncombe, and Unicoi (TN) Counties.
