ABOUT THE AREA
The Town of Cicero, located in Northeastern Onondaga County, is known as the "crossroads of New York State" as it is equidistant from Canada and Pennsylvania on the North and South and Albany and Buffalo East and West. Also the crossroads of U.S. Route 11 and NY State Route 31. Interstate 81 and 481 also run through Cicero. Cicero was the site of the laying of the first plank of the first plank road in the U.S. in 1846. Cicero is the birthplace of Matilda Joslyn Gage, an influential suffragette.
