More than 2200 households and close to 1700 families are nested in this very warm and gentle territory of more than 820 people per square mile and a median household income of more than $27900. The former homeland of the Hondo Army Air Field is very proud of its generous and kind spirit reflected in the hard work of the Hondo Lions Club which was created in the 1930s making famous their motto "This is God's Country, Please Don't Drive Through It Like Hell" all over the country.
