ABOUT THE AREA
Born with the name of "Village of Waterloo" back in the 19th century, this city was renamed after Stephen F. Austin ten years later while it was still the capital of the newly independent Republic of Texas. Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin, and Lake Walter E. Long bring beauty to this land and were traced by the hand of visionary men who wanted to bring more water into this community irrigated by the Colorado River and situated in the Balcones Fault. When you come to this corner of Texas, there will be plenty of activities to keep yourself and your family busy such as boating, shopping, swimming, exploring, camping, and much more.
