Established in the 1870s, this land in the Andrews Micropolitan Statistical Area was inhabited by several Native Americans including the Anasazi, Apache and Comanche tribes. Some of the communities in Andrews are Shafter Lake, Fasken, Andrews (county seat), and Andrews County Veterans Memorial; all served by the Andrews Independent School District.
