This town in Archer and Clay Counties is another son of the Wichita Falls metro area nested in the arms of Scotland, Archer City, Jean-Loving, and Lakeside City. Named after Ludwig Windthorst, this land has a total extension of 2.5 square miles of territory elevated 1030 feet above sea level, with more than 440 inhabitants and more than 110 families residing in this jewel of Texas State. Served by the Windthorst Independent School District, this municipality has based its economy in the hands of very diverse industries such as agriculture, forestry, construction, educational services, health care, and public administration.
