ABOUT THE AREA
Bee County was named after Barnard Bee, who was a member of the Republic of Texas. The homeland of Aransas River is adjacent Karnes, Goliad, Refugio, San Patricio, and Live Oak Counties. When you "land" in this territory, you will witness an extensive racial makeup of White Non Hispanic, African American, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Latino, and other racial groups. Some of the localities in this community are Mineral, Pettus, Blue Berry, Hill, and Tynan; all served by Beeville, Mathis, Pawnee, Pettus, Refugio, Skidmore-Tynan, and Three Rivers Independent School Districts.
