The city of Belton is part of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood metro with an estimated population of 14650 residents and "brain" center of the County of Bell. More than 70% of the residents in this land are White Non Hispanic, close to 10% is African American, and most of the remaining percentage corresponding to Latin inhabitants; plus some minorities of Asian, Native American, and other racial groups. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is the pride of this community home of several historic churches including First United Methodist Church.
