This dry county founded in the early 1890s has made it to the top five list of the least populous communities in Texas following the lead of three counties including Loving and Kenedy. The U.S. Highway 180 and the Farm to Market Road 669 are the most important highways in this land neighboring with Garza, Scurry, Mitchell, Dawson, Lynn, and Howard Counties.
