ABOUT THE AREA
Situated in the central portion of Texas State, we find Brazos County nested between Burleson, Grimes, Robertson, Madison, and Washington Counties. Served by Bryan as its county seat, this community has a racial makeup where White Non Hispanic, African American, Native American, Asian, Latino, Asian Indian, Korean, and other races have been influenced by the German, English, Irish, and American ancestries present in this corner of the Bryan-College Station metro area. One of the challenges for the authorities in this territory would be to lower the almost 15% of poverty affecting mostly the population between 18 to 65 years old.
