Falfurrias city is the county seat of this community established in the 1910s sharing frontiers with Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Well, Kenedy, Kleberg, and Starr Counties. U.S. Highway 281, State Highway 285, and Farm to Market Road 755 represent the most important major highways communicating Brooks with its neighboring localities. The racial makeup in this corner of Texas is not very extensive, more than 90% of the people residing in Brooks County is Hispanic; while the remaining percentage is represented by Native American, White Non Hispanic, and other racial groups.
