Cameron County is the mother of this land in the Brownsville-Harlingen metro area with an estimated population of 24750 residents and registered under the zip code 78586, which is the birthplace of the super Tex Mex musician; Freddy Fender. Elevated 40 feet above sea level, this community known in the past as the "Resaca City" has 11 square miles of territory sharing border lines with El Camino Angosto, Lago, Arroyo Colorado Estates, Green Valley Farms, Villa del Sol, Harlingen, and La Paloma. The Chicano culture is very much alive in this territory where the Latino barrios such as Jardin, La Calle Stenger, and La Palma keep this "feeling" in the "house"!
