ABOUT THE AREA
Rusk is the county seat of this land in Texas State nested between Smith, Rusk, Nacogdoches, Angelina, Houston, Anderson, and Henderson Counties. With a population density of 44 inhabitants per square mile, this community has a racial makeup of White Non Hispanic, African American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Latino, and other racial groups. Jacksonville Public Library and Singletary Memorial Library are study "temples" in this corner of America homeland of the Jacksonville Daily Progress newspaper and served by five school districts including Rusk, Wells, and New Summerfield.
