Morton is the county seat of this territory situated near Bailey, Lea (NM), Roosevelt (NM), Hockley, Lamb, Terry, and Yoakum Counties; home of several notable locations such as Girls Town USA, North Windmill, Close Ranch, Whiteface Historical Museum, and County Line Church. American and Irish ancestries are present in this community served by the Morton Independent School District and Whiteface Independent School District as well.
