Interconnected by the Interstate 10, U.S. Highway 90, and State Highway 71 is a community served by Columbus City as its county seat. More than 7640 households and 5400 families reside in this land of 974 square miles of extension with a median household income of close to $32500 and a per capita income of almost $17000. Nineteen localities constituted the map of Colorado County, out of those only three are incorporated communities; Columbus, Eagle Lake, and Weimar; all of them irrigated by several lakes, rivers, and creeks including Black Lake, Griffin Lake, Jack Branch, Harveys Creek, and Sawmill Branch.
