COMMENTS
The NY-Penn League baseball team, Hudson Valley Renegades have their home games in Fishkill. The Town includes Interstate 84, plus Route 9 as well.
ABOUT THE AREA
The area was first purchased by two Dutch NYC merchants from the Wappinger indians for rum, tobacco and other goods in 1683. "Vis Kill" as it was originally called by the Dutch, means "stream of abundant fish". "Kill" is Dutch for creek or stream, though animal rights activists have nevertheless protested the name.
