Named in honor of Benjamin Franklin. It was the summer home of historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. It is the birthplace of Daniel Webster and his childhood home is off of route 127. It located where the Pemigewasset and Winnipesauke rivers join to form the Merrimack.
