COMMENTS
The Village Court is held in the Village Hall, up the road from the town court. The Village Hall is a 2-storied building with a large red hook over the entrance. We found two different numbers for the address: 7476 and 7467. You will probably find it. Note there is also a <a href="http://town-court.com/getTownCourt.php?courtID=590">Red Hook Town Court</a>.
ABOUT THE AREA
Originally settled by the Dutch, "Roode Hoeck" is derived from the Dutch word for peninsula, "hoek" and the red fall foliage "roode". The Village was originally known as Lower Red Hook, although the village is often referred to as Hardscrabble. This Red Hook should not be confused with part of Brooklyn. Very different places you know.
