ABOUT THE AREA
The village of North Syracuse has a population of about 6,800. Its claim to fame is that the first plank road in the United States was built here, before 1850, for transportation of sodium chloride. Today, the village has a "Plank Road" Historical Society and a "Plank Road" Chamber of Commerce.
