ABOUT THE AREA
This territory was named after Richard Ellis, who was a man of honor sitting on the president's chair when the Texas Declaration of Independence was generated. Dallas and Kaufman Counties represent the northern frontier of Ellis, Henderson and Navarro are the southern neighbors, Hill County is the lone ranger providing the southern border with a small portion of Navarro County as well, and finally, Johnson and Tarrant Counties are the west wing residents. Some of the sons and daughters of Ellis are Avalon, Ike, Telico, Alma, Italy, Venus, Oak Leaf, Pecan Hill, Ovilla, Glenn Heights, and Bardwell.
