"Gentlemen, start your engines!" can be heard weekends at the Chemung Speedrome where hot rods and fast car fans come for racing and car shows. Here comes NASCAR! Established in 1788, retaining the name the Algonquins gave it, "place of the big horn", for the large mammoth tusks found along the Chemung River. Located at exit 59 off Rte 17, it's also known as the "Gateway to the Finger Lakes."
