ABOUT THE AREA
Elmira Heights is conveniently located to the Chemung Valley History Museum (including an exhibit of Floyd Woodhull, who dominated country music in western NY from the 30's - 50's); the Newton Battlefield and Sullivan's Monument Park; & the Mark Twain Golf Course (18 holes, 72 par). The village is just north of the City of Elmira. Near the hiking trails, habitats and wildlife of the Tanglewood Nature Center, as well as the Wings of Eagles Museum (formerly the National Warplane Museum) containing memorabilia of military aviation. Route 14 goes through the village.
