ABOUT THE AREA
Bellerose was begun as a small model community. The first house was erected in 1910. Village is just north of the Belmont Park horse racing track.

Nassau County District Attorney's Office might handle some criminal cases here, but we're not sure. Village has both a village attorney and a village prosecutor (354-1000). The latter prosecutes code violations and traffic matters too.
