Some believe the Columbia County DA's office is tougher than others, and that they can be more difficult to deal with. We've found them to be pleasant but firm.

It's thought that Hendrick Hudson was here. Some other group of people was here first, possibly the Mohicans. The county is home to Kinderhook, Chatham, Canaan, Ancram, and a variety of other wonderful spots. Massachusetts is to the east. Major highways in the County include the Taconic State Parkway, Route 22, and Route 9 (with offshoots). The Taconic in particular is heavily policed, so it's not a good idea to carry a loaded handgun in your glove compartment while you're on probation and speeding on the TSP. Or anywhere else for that matter.
