ABOUT THE AREA
The town of Cairo is partly in the Catskills State Park. The Catskill Creek runs through the town. Beautiful area, many homes in Cairo are vacation homes. The town is pronounced \"Kay-ro\". Cairo hosts an annual Apple Harvest Festival, and the Chamber of Commerce hosts the Catskill Mountains Renaissance Faire for 1 weekend each year in the summer. Cairo is on Route 23, a beautiful road that runs partway to Schoharie County (Route 145 takes you the rest of the way), before turning toward the Catskills and the Town of Windham.
