Anacortes sits on Fidalgo Island at the Western end of Skagit county.The site of the court is almost alongside State Road 20.

Anacortes is the destination point for the San Juans and International ferry runs for Washington State. As a result Washington state's largest fishing fleet berths here. Whale watching tours, kayaking excursions, sailing and other boating is available at this port. The city has a new library. A swimming pool and fitness center, senior center, Boys and Girls club, skate park, sports fields and a youth sailing program provide plenty of recreational activities for all ages. Deception Pass at the southern end of Fidalgo Island and the bridge over it offer a great opportunity for photographers.
