ABOUT THE AREA
Nested in the Lubbock–Levelland combined area, this land is served by Levelland City as its county seat. Named for George Washington Hockley, this territory was founded back in 1870s. Connected by four major highways including US Highway 84 and State Highway 114, this land has an estimated population of 22700 inhabitants. With a total area of almost 910 square miles of extension, this portion of Texas has a racial makeup integrated by White Non Hispanic, African American, Native American, Asian, Latino, and other racial groups.
