ABOUT THE AREA
This son of Texas was named for Mirabeau B. Lamar, president of the Republic of Texas. Situated between Choctaw (OK), Red River, Delta, Fannin, and Bryan (OK) Counties; this community is connected by the US Highway 82, US Highway 271, and State Highway 19. Established in the 1840s, this land has a total extension of 932 square miles and it is home for more than 48500 inhabitants according to the latest census.
