Founded in the 1850s, this land of 714 square miles of extension is connected by the US Highway 183, US Highway 281, and US Highway 190. Adjacent to Hamilton, Coryell, Bell, Burnet, San Saba, and Mills Counties; this territory was home of several Indians back in the 1700s and today is divided in five communities: Bend, Copperas Cove, Kempner, Lampasas, and Lometa. With a median household income of $36200 and a per capita income of $17200, this land struggles with more than 10% of its population living under extreme poverty.
