ABOUT THE AREA
There is a lot of historical importance attached to the Village of Pulaski. In 1820 the village was named as ‘Pulaski’, the word is derived from General Count Casimir Pulaski who was a Polish revolutionary and an aide to General Washington. The Village of Pulaski has a breathtaking view of the sunset over Lake Ontario, added to that are other attractions of winter sports and beautiful scenery along the infamous Salmon River. Since many years the village of Pulaski has been in receipt of contributions under a trust from the John Ben Snow foundation. J.B. Snow was born in Pulaski, NY on the 16th of June 1883. He single-handedly contributed to the Village of Pulaski in the areas of education, promoting the Christian faith and encouraging scientific endeavors. His dedication to the Village of Pulaski is reflected in the Public Library in the Snow Memorial Building at 4917 Jefferson Street. On a visit to the Village Clerk’s Office one can see the sketches depicting the life history of John Ben. Selkirk Shores State Park and Pines Golf Club are nearby.
