ABOUT THE AREA
The Town of Constantia is in the southeast part of the Oswego County with a population of 5000 at the 2000 census, which is 98% of White and the remaining with other race. The town is bounded on the west by West Monroe, on the north by Amboy and Oneida county, on the east by Oneida county, and on the south by Oneida lake. The town was first settled around 1793 and was known as Rotterdam and the town was created from part of the Town of Mexico in 1808. The town is covered with small water bodies like Painter Lake, on the line between Constantia and Amboy, and Kibbys Lake, in the south part of the town. The Trinity Protestant Episcopal church of Constantia, which is spread in 24 acres of land with a cemetery connected with the property. There is a small Freewill Baptist church at Constantia Center in which services are quite regularly maintained. The other Communities and locations are Bernhards Bay a hamlet on the shore of Oneida lake is quite interesting and Constantia Center a hamlet on northwest of Clevelend. The hamlet of Constantia is on the shore of Oneida Lake, on Route 49.
