ABOUT THE AREA
Another popular story about the Darlington Magistrate court is that an old woman in the 1800’s burnt it down. She did not want to appear in the court on same case that was pursuing her and so she wanted to burn the papers relating to her case. However that ended up in burning the whole building down. Whether it is true or not, the courthouse was rebuilt in 1818 with Brick.
