Santa Clara is a small town in the Adirondacks near Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake, New York. The town was named after businessman, John Hurd's wife, Santa Clara. It was established in 1888 taking land from the town of Brandon. Roughly 400 residents in this bit of the Adirondack park. Great area to see wildlife. Many different kinds of birds and rodents such as beaver, rabbit, badgers, moles, otters, and other small creatures can be viewed in high numbers. There is also a new Adirondack Natural History Museum called the Wild Center in Tupper Lake.
