Established in the 1830s, this land framed by Panola, Rusk, De Soto Parish (LA), Sabine Parish (LA), Sabine, San Augustine, and Nacogdoches Counties has a population density over 30 people per square mile. Home of the Sabine National Forest, this community is known by many as one of the "Gateways to the Texas Forest Country".
