ABOUT THE AREA
Part of the Victoria metro area, this community of more than 84000 inhabitants has a total area of almost 890 square miles of extension. Established in the 1830s, this territory served by three major highways shares borders with Lavaca, Jackson, Calhoun, Refugio, Goliad, and DeWitt Counties. Reporting a population density under 100 people per square mile, this son of Texas was named after Guadalupe Victoria, the first President of Mexico.
