COMMENTS
The Town of Ovid Court consolidated with the Town of Lodi Court in January 2013. Both Courts are presided over by Judge Van Cleef. Ovid Town Court has been moved to the Town of Lodi.
ABOUT THE AREA
Ovid, New York is a historic area with a population of about 612 people. The town was established on land taken from the Iroquois people and seized in 1779, though some signs indicate 1794. No buildings were built until 1806 and the town was incorporated in 1816. Great place to learn about the history of our state. Also, was part of the military tract that ran through New York. This was used to compensate men who were soldiers after the Revolutionary War.
