ABOUT THE AREA
Brightwaters is on Great South Bay in the Town of Islip, the island's south shore. Scattered about the village are canals, lakes, bridges and parks which accentuate the community. Brightwaters was the filming location for the 2004 Nicole Kidman film, "Birth". The Sunrise Highway, Sagitos Parkway, the Southern State, and Robert Moses Causeway are the main arteries to the village. The village is also on the map for one of its star residents, <a href="http://www.rick-lazio.com">Rick Lazio</a>. He's not super famous, but he might get there.
