ABOUT THE AREA
The lovely polar bear has made of this territory part of the Great Clay Belt of North Eastern Ontario its home. Named after an uncertain derivation, this community connected by the Highway 11 and Cochrane railway station is a member of the Trans Canada Highway system. Even when this corner of Ontario is not as big as its neighboring communities, it has an estimated population of approximately 5500 inhabitants.
