Puzzle piece of Temiskaming Shores (nicknamed The Tri-Towns), this city of more than 4500 inhabitants was named for the Haileybury school in England. Situated on Lake Timiskaming, this community known as "Matabanic" and "Humphrey's Depot" is the proud host of the annual Heritagefest. Home of Haileybury Heritage Museum, this corner of Ontario elevated more than 1100 feet above sea level was founded in the 1880s. Served today by Highway 11 and Highway 65, this city has four local newspapers including The Temiskaming Speaker and the biweekly The Voice of the Shores.
