ABOUT THE AREA
Union has a unique place in politics; in 2006 the city elected a teenage college student as mayor. The Union Harvest Festival, held each October, is a relatively new event for Union. The big thing at this festival is the Punkin Chunkin Competition; where contestants hurl Pumpkins using all different kinds of contraptions. The Grassroots Festival held each August features two main events; the Do-dah parade and the ever exciting rubber duck race down Catherine Creek. Forthe more mundane ther's the car show, a city-wide garage sale, a street dance and food and vendors .
