State Road 238 meets with two other major thoroughfares near the center of town.

Jacksonville lies at the gateway to Applegate Valley Wine country and is designated as a National Historic Landmark. A trolley ride takes you past many of the historic homes and landmarks. Jacksonville's Woodland Trail system winds along Jackson Creek and through the hills above town. Wildlife including deer, raccoon, fox, coyote, and large birds of prey such as red tail hawks and the American Bald Eagle can be seen in abundance throughout the trail. The Jacksonville museum, with exhibits featuring a collection of artifacts and photographic story boards, tells the story of the Native Americans, Chinese Immigrants, settlers, and miners that are part of Jacksonville's history.
