ABOUT THE AREA
Great little town with a population of over 1,000 people. Oquaga Creek State Park is located here. During the winter the townspeople and tourists ice skate and ice fish on the creek. Ice fisherman crack the ice with an auger and drill down to the open water. They create fishing huts that line the creek. Some of these little houses have some of the amenities of home. Space heaters, coolers for food, and cushioned seats. Some come with portable televisions and dvd players. Great pastime for the winter months.
