The town of Ocean Grove was founded as a Methodist summer retreat by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. It is a largely non-residential summer town and is more of an active camp meeting place. This association does religious reading and offers spritual insight through prayers, discourses and meetings. This town is located with Neptune Township and had many Victorian homes. However, most of these homes are summer homes only and remain uninhabited during winter months. The main street of the town - Main Avenue - has many shops that cater to the residents' needs. The Jersey Shore Medical Center is less than a mile away from the Ocean Grove Municipal Court. Shark River Country Park and Golf Course are nearby too.
