The residents of Vale have great access to travel with Unted State Hways 20 and 26 running through town.

Vale is a small but rather cozy town; occupying just over 1 square mile. But it is the county seat. Its post office was established at the latter part of the 19th century. At over 14 acres Wadleigh Park is the city's largest park and has baseball and soccer fields, horseshoe pits and a covered picnic canopy with barbeque facilities. The city swimming pool, which adjoins the park, is partially heated by hot springs from Geothermal resources. Vale 4th of July Rodeo, Oregon Trail Days and Ranch Rodeo are held at rodeo grounds which are also next to the park
