This court is officially known as the Grant County Circuit Court. There is also a county judge who has jurisdiction over probate cases.

Canyon city is the county seat of Grant county but has a population of less than 600. The Grant County Regional Airport, which is open to the public, lies a few miles to the Northwest of Canyon City. The airport is owned by Grant county and with runways over 5000 feet and over 4400 feet in length as well as well paved asphalt surfaces, it can handle small jet aircraft. Its lighting system utilizes variable intensity runway lights and high intensity strobes.
