State Highway 42 is the main thoroughfare through the center of town.

Although Myrtle Point is the site of the annual Coos county fair; the town’s main event is the Harvest Festival. The Harvest Festival has been an event for the about 35 years but has recently incorporated the celebration the harvest of cars, a car show, along with the celebration of the harvest of crops. The Coos County Logging Museum is housed in a dome-shaped building which was formerly the site of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints and a meeting place for the American Legion. It houses a collection of antique logging equipment: chain saws, spring boards, rigging equipment, axes, adzes and other hand tools relating to logging. Exhibits include railroad items as they pertain to the hauling of logs.
